The oldest corner of the city, sloping down to the water at Ruston Way, where remodelled kitchens sit in houses built long before them.
Start with the name, because it is meant literally. Old Town is where the first settlement called Tacoma stood, before New Tacoma grew up around the railway terminus and the two merged into one city.
